What is Jargonaut?
Jargonaut is a knowledge sharing application that helps teams to create and access shared dictionary of their internal jargon.
Why was Jargonaut created?
Good communication starts with shared language.
Most of us have experienced confusion when joining a new team, where everyone else seems to know the lingo. Similarly, have you ever been in a conversation where everyone seems to be using slightly different definitions of the same word?
Jargonaut was created to help teams record definitions of their internal jargon to help new members get up to speed quicker, and to help keep everyone on the same page in conversations.
The end result is more effective communication, which is the cornerstone of effective teams.
Why not use a general knowledge-base software like a wiki?
We believe you should use the best tool for the job. Whilst generalized wiki and other knowledge sharing tools are powerful, they are not purpose built for sharing terminology definitions.
Jargonaut was developed to do one thing, and do it well: Share definitions of language used by teams. Jargonaut allows you and your team members to go to a single place to find and record automatically cross referenced defintions.
How do I enter my payment details?
We have released Jargonaut for free as we refine the product. Our plan is to have a free tier, and a paid for premium tier with features not available in the free tier. For now, all features are free, and glossaries/accounts created during this period will have continued access to premium features for 12 months after the premium plan payment is enabled.
What will be available in the premium tier?
Single sign-on providers, fine grained access control, audit history of changes, custom domains and branding, data export options, and more. We have a roadmap a mile long. Is there a specific feature that will seal the deal? Get in contact with us now and will do our best to accomodate you.
Why the name jargonaut?
Jargon, Astronaut, Argonaut, Juggernaut. Squish them together. Bam!
Exporting my data
We plan on offering a number of options for making it easy to export your data from Jargonaut in the future. For now, it is relatively simple to copy and paste your definitions from the browser, use your browser's "save page as" feature, or event print your glossary to PDF or paper via your browser's print functionality.
How secure is Jargonaut?
We take security seriously, with our team having decades of experience in developing secure software. Can we guarentee perfect security? Nobody can! Can I see an edit history on my glossary?
For premium glossaries we record a change history for term definitons, and plan to make this available in the near future. If you would like this feature bumped up our roadmap, get in contact with us to let us know.
Can I authenticate with my company's single sign-on provider?
We are planning on adding various enterpise single sign-on integrations in the future in our premium tier. If there is a specific provider that you require, please email us at email@example.com and we will do our best to accomodate you.
Can I use a custom domain?

Can I style my glossary?

Can I make my glossary private?
Yes, you can make your glossary restricted to just users that have email addresses on a specific domain, like your organisation. Need more fine grained control over access and editing? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your needs.
Can I make my glossary public?
Yes. To make your glossary accessible to anyone, just leave the "restrict access settings" blank on creation. The whole world will be able to read, add and edit your terms.
